Party Time

Well, we made both parties today. Cody had a great time at both. I'll have to load pics of him at the pool; he was doing all kinds of jumps and dives. He got a great trophy, I carried it because I was so afraid that he would break it; then I dropped the darn thing and...broke it! I can glue it back together, but I was so dissappointed with myself. The coaches LOVED the mini albums that I made for them; it's a good thing too, they were very time consuming.

Got started canning beans first thing this morning. As I type, there are seven more jars in the pressure canner cooling. I hope to hear jar lids popping soon. I left for the parties after packing about 10 jars. Duke got another 11 done after I left. Feel bad leaving him, but gotta be social.

A fella that I work with died in a car accident last night. Very sad that he left a family behind in such a tragic way. I believe that he was drinking heavily and made the mistake of getting behind the wheel. It is too bad that hard lessons must be learned this way; but hopefully, this tragedy will save someone else's life. I pray for his family.

Got to see my nephews today too, at my niece's party. It was nice because I haven't seen them in some time. Both are so handsome and are growing like weeds. It's hard to believe sometimes that they have grown so big and older. Why can't they just stay the age you remember them?
